Yield Spread Premium (YSP)

Yield Spread Premium (YSP)
The difference in basis points from one rate to another offered by a wholesale lender as a result of a higher rate. The opposite of discount points that are paid to get a lower rate, YSPs are paid by the lender to get a higher rate. They are often used to offset borrower closing costs and to provide a no-point, no-fee mortgage loan.
