Synthetic Manufactured
In the context of loans or derivatives, it is used to denote the fact that the synthetic instrument has been created out of more than one underlying instrument (such as a combination of a fixed rate bond and a swap to create a stream of floating rate payments which may be represented by a synthetic instrument).
