Chapter 13 bankruptcy
A form of bankruptcy that allows consumers to keep most of their assets based on a means test and repay debt they can afford based on IRS allowances over a three- or five-year period of time under court supervision and protection.
Chapter 13 is generally reported for seven years but may be reported up to ten years at the discretion of the credit bureau.
Often referred to as wage-earner bankruptcy.
